Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

ABOUT GERI

Languages Spoken: English
Ages Treated: 25+

From a young age, around four, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My aspiration came to life when I started working in healthcare at the age of fifteen as a nursing assistant. At twenty, I made a significant move into psychiatry, beginning my role as a mental health counselor. I have been a registered nurse since 1993 and have held the title of board-certified adult-gerontological primary care nurse practitioner since 2001. My specialty lies in mental health and primary care. Most importantly, my journey in healthcare has been a humbling experience, and I am blessed to be able to support so many individuals in need.

I take immense pleasure in assisting patients who encounter a range of challenges. For instance, individuals suffering from chronic pain frequently face mental health struggles. I am also prepared to support women dealing with depression that may be linked to hormonal fluctuations. Additionally, I find fulfillment in working with older adults, individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, and those facing complex medical conditions alongside concurrent mental health concerns.

Numerous patients describe me as compassionate, insightful, knowledgeable, straightforward, honest, and open-minded. I take pride in creating a welcoming environment for my patients. If you're interested, I would enjoy collaborating with you.

Leonard Cohen's famous quote, "There’s a crack in everything; that’s how the light gets in," serves as a powerful reminder that life is not always as it seems. Different factors influence situations, and by acknowledging that each person has a unique background and story, we can uncover that crack. In time, the light can shine through.
