Dr. Weathers is a board-certified Psychiatrist that specializes in treating individuals suffering from mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders, across the developmental spectrum. Dr. Weathers completed his medical school training at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut where he obtained his M.D. Simultaneously, he completed his research training (PhD/DPhil (U.K.)) in neuroscience at Oxford University in Oxford, England and the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland. He conducted research, under the supervision of world-renowned researchers at Yale, NIMH, and Oxford University, on the development of mood disorders using neuroimaging techniques. He subsequently first-authored several publications in leading neuroscience journals on his findings. In his clinical training, Dr. Weathers served as Chief Resident of the Solnit Integrated Training Program at the Yale Child Study Center. After completing his residency, Dr. Weathers became focused on applying his clinical and research skills to the treatment of individuals in his home community of southern New Hampshire.

Dr. Weathers presently divides his clinical work time between inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. He has served as Medical Director and Section Chief of acute behavioral health units in southern New Hampshire. Dr. Weathers is an active faculty member and teaches child and adolescent psychiatry fellows on the diagnosis and treatment of early onset mood disorders and in ethics in psychiatry, and supervises trainees in clinical skill development. Finally, he is an active board member of child advocacy groups locally and nationally.
