ABOUT DR. BEAULIEU

Languages Spoken: English
Pronouns: She/her
Ages Treated: 12-70

I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (a PsyD) from Antioch University New England.  I also have a master’s in counseling and Counselor Education (MEd) from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Rivier University.  I have worked with individuals from early childhood through adulthood in a non-profit agency, community mental health, and private practice.  My clients, especially at the doctoral level, came from varying socioeconomic levels, were largely of Black and Hispanic ethnicity, and were often of different religious groups from myself.

I am a warm, compassionate therapist who has been working in mental health for over 20 years. There is no denying - life can be stressful and overwhelming at times.  I believe my role with clients is to guide, encourage, and support them in addressing the emotional struggles that come from everyday challenges as well as traumatic experiences.  I have the expertise and clinical training to help people, but everyone is an expert in themself.  It is true that therapy is not easy.  It requires hard work and a commitment to oneself to change.  And, my experience has shown me time and again that when therapist and client work together, each one doing their part, therapy can be successful.

I treat clients struggling with PTSD, grief and loss, depression and other mood disorders,  anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship problems, life changes and transitions, parenting / co-parenting and discrimination of any kind.  I specialize in trauma and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).  I utilize an integrative approach, drawing from Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Humanistic theories.

I look forward to meeting you.

Outside of work, I am a cat lover with two tuxedo cats – a sweet, cuddling male and a spunky, playful female.  I love to read, mostly detective and mystery books, and cookie decorating is my passion, the place I ‘go to’ when I need to relax and have some fun.
